Karachi dairy farmers demand Rs100 per litre increase in milk price

Dairy farmers in Karachi have demanded an increase of Rs100 per litre in the official price of milk, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the DCFA, it is no longer possible to continue business at the current rates due to the increase in fodder, electricity, petrol and other expenses.
In this regard, dairy farmers wrote a letter to Commissioner Karachi.
An office bearer of the association, Shakir Gujjar, said that the dairy sector is facing a severe economic crisis and it has become impossible to continue business at current rates.
Dairy farmers said the prices of fodder and milk have increased by 75% and they will soon give a plan of action after consultation.
Mubashir Qadeer Abbasi said milk supply may be affected due to depletion of working capital.
