A 40-year-old labourer was allegedly killed by his elder brother in a village near Sakrand in Nawabshah district, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday,

According to the details, the incident took place in the village of Taj Muhammad Rastmani within the jurisdiction of Sakrand tehsil.

Last year in July, six members of the Bhangwar community were shot dead in Nawabshah while travelling to attend a court hearing. Police said the victims were attacked near Keriya Mori within the limits of B-Section Police Station.

The deceased in that incident were identified as Qurban, Shahbaz, Farman Habdar, Yar Muhammad and Najeeb Bhangwar, while another body was recovered from nearby fields.

Police had stated that the attack appeared to be linked to an old enmity, although investigations continued at the time.

In another incident reported from Larkana during the same period, armed men opened fire inside the orthopaedic ward of Chandka Civil Hospital, killing a husband and wife and injuring two others.

Police said the attack was believed to have stemmed from a family dispute involving rival groups.
