Two die, several injured as rain, windstorm hits Swabi, Haripur and other areas
Rain and windstorm reported in Gujrat , Chakwal and Faisalabad region, rain and windstorm expected across country during the next 24 hours
At least two people died and several got injured during heavy rain and storm in different part of Khyber Paktunkhawa province on Sunday evening and night, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
At least one woman was killed, and six other people were injured after severe weather caused multiple accidents across different areas of Swabi District on Sunday.
One die and four others got injured as heavy rain and windstorm hits Haripur, Ghazi Tehsil and Khanpur tehsil on Sunday night.According to the scribe, electricity poles and trees fell in different areas due to rain and windstorm, causing power outages in dozens of villages. Traffic was suspended at various places on the GT Road including the Haripur Hazara Motorway due to falling trees.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, emergency calls were received from several locations where strong winds, lightning, and structural failures led to fires, building collapses, and other incidents.
In Dogai and Mal Lara, fire broke out in residential areas, prompting fire teams to rush to the sites to bring the flames under control. In Kalu Khan, a solar panel fell due to strong winds, seriously injuring a child who was shifted for medical treatment. In Yar Hussain Adda, two people were seriously injured when a roadside board collapsed during stormy winds. In Bajakhel, a house wall collapsed, killing a woman on the spot, while another person was injured in a similar incident in Shewa Khel. Separately, two people were injured in Turlandi after being struck by lightning amid the bad weather conditions. Authorities have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather, stay away from open fields, weak structures, and electricity poles, and contact emergency services immediately in case of any incident.
Rain and windstorm was also reported in Gujrat , Chakwal and Faisalabad region also. The rain and windstorm is also expected across the country during the next 24 hours.
