Maryam Nawaz warns of hunting down those resorting to rigging

PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said she would not forgive anyone if the elections were rigged in Gilgit-Baltistan and promised to hunt them down, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a rally at Shugham in Astore district, Maryam said the only selectors recognised by the Constitution were the people who would not spare those resorting to rigging.

The people of Gilgit-Baltistan would not surrender no matter how much rigging was carried out and how many party members were forced to quit the PML-N, she remarked.

Both those involved in rigging and the product of rigging had been exposed, Maryam said and asked the people to guard their vote on the polling day.

The PML-N leader said she was very happy that the true face of those in government could be seen by the people.

She was referring to the abusive language used by Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur about her at a recent public meeting in Gilgit-Baltistan, which triggered a backlash on social media and among political circles.

Maryam told the crowd she had been arrested front of her father PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and sent to jail staying firmly behind him.

Death was better than being in a government which could only give humiliation and shame, maintained Maryam who discussed the poor performance of the PTI-led setup.

“We know to give respect in return of respect. We know how to fulfil the promises,” said the PML-N leader and added that the promises made with the people of Gilgit-Baltistan would be materialised.
