Gold, silver prices rise sharply in Pakistan

The gold and silver prices recorded a significant increase on Monday, with the per-tola price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs7,400 to Rs429,862, up from Rs422,462 the previous day, the All Pakistan Sarafa-Gems and Jewellers Association reported.

Similarly, 10-gram 24-karat gold increased by Rs6,337 to Rs368,530, while 10-gram 22-karat gold rose by Rs5,551 to Rs337,573.

The international gold price moved up by $74 to reach $4,075 per ounce.

Silver rates also recorded an upward trend, with the 24-karat increasing by Rs115 to Rs5,209 per tola, and 10-gram silver rising by Rs98 to Rs4,465.

International silver gained $1.15 to settle at $49.47 per ounce.

The gold rate is based on 24-karat purity at 999 standard, the association added.
