671 new coronavirus cases, six deaths recorded in Pakistan

Six more people died of the coronavirus during the past 24 hours in Pakistan, shows the figures released by National and Command Operation Centre on Saturday morning, raising the death toll to 6,558.
On the other hand, another 671 people tested positive on Thursday, which means the overall number of coronavirus cases in the country has now reached 318,266.
Pakistan is now 23rd most affected nation in the world after countries like Turkey and Germany again surpassed the country due to the alarming second wave being witnessed in Europe and other parts of the world.
Sindh is by far the most affected province where the virus has been found in 139,910 people which means most the new cases were detected in the province. Meanwhile, not a single person tested positive in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
The region-wise distribution for the rest of the country is given as: Punjab 100,484, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 38,273, Islamabad 17,210, Balochistan 15,498, Gilgit-Baltistan 3,900 and Azad Kashmir 2,991.
A total of 303,062 people – 354 of them during the past 24 hours – have so far fully recovered from the coronavirus infection. Therefore, the number of closed cases [deaths + number of recoveries] in the country currently stands at 309,620.
However, there are 8,646 active cases in the country and 475 of them are being treated in intensive care due to their critical condition.
On the other hand, 33,665 tests were administered across the country as part of the efforts to identify, trace and isolate the infected persons to stop the further spread. These latest tests has increased the overall number to 3,828,952.
