Pak Army contingent off to Qatar to provide security to FIFA World Cup

Yet another honour for Pakistan Army as an army contingent left Noor Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi for Qatar on Monday morning to provide security to the FIFA World Cup, 2022, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The contingent consists of officers, junior commissioned officers and jawans.

An eight-member FIFA’s training team had visited Pakistan in September and imparted training to the selected army batch to provide security during the mega sport event.

It is pertinent to mention here that the government of Qatar had requested Pakistan couple of months back to assist it in providing security during the tournament.

A four-member delegation of Qatar’s interior ministry had also visited Pakistan in August, 2022.
