Police arrests PTI worker outside Adyala Jail
Police on Wednesday arrested Zia, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker, in connection with the torture of journalist Tayyab Baloch case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During police action, a lawyer of PTI-founder Khalid Yousaf Chaudhary advocate exchanged harsh words with Saddar Police Station SHO.
Advocate Khalid Yousaf said that “arresting a person within the jurisdiction of jail premises is illegal”.
Later, the police shifted Zia to Adyala Police Chowki. Police sources said that CCTV footage showed that Zia is among persons who attacked and tortured journalist Tayyab Baloch.
The CCTV footage clearly identified that Zia was coming to attack journalist Tayyab Baloch.
Later, talking with media persons outside Adyala Jail, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar clarified that PTI does not believe in torture and violence.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that no political party advised its workers to engage in torture and harassment.
He strongly condemned the sad incident. Barrister Gohar said that “no matter how difficult a question is, torture is unacceptable”.
Later, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan hugged the journalists. He advised the journalists to be careful while selecting words.
Barrister Gohar said that “we stood with the journalists on the issue of PECA Act”. Barrister Gohar urged the journalists to keep themselves cool.
Barrister Gohar appealed to the government to extend full support to flood-affected people.
He assured the journalists that any such incident would not occur in the future.
