Two murderers shot dead in Jhelum police encounter

Two accused who were involved in the gruesome murder of four persons including a woman, were killed after receiving bullet wounds during a police encounter in Jhelum, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to details, after receiving credible information that the accused will travel through Dhok Munawwar, a CCD team, after taking notice of the accused who were coming from Ashiana Housing Scheme, signalled them to stop.

But the accused started straight firing at the CCD personnel. All four accused later escaped towards the Ashiana Housing Scheme.

A police constable received gunshots but remained unhurt as he was wearing a bulletproof jacket.

The CCD team chased the accused and arrested two of them in an injured condition. The accused were identified as Abdullah, a resident of Baigpur, and Shehzor, who belonged to Bajar.

The remaining two accused successfully fled away from the scene, taking advantage of the darkness.

Police also recovered a sharp-edged knife, a machete, and two pistols from their possession.

The injured dacoits were shifted to a hospital, but they died of excessive bleeding due to severe injuries.
