Flawed police probe behind overturning of murder convictions by LHC

What could be termed quite unfortunate, a majority of people, who were handed down death sentences in murder cases, have been acquitted by the Lahore High Court (LHC) in recent times, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Flawed police investigation and ineffective prosecution have emerged as the biggest factors responsible for the release of these convicts.
People, who have been given capital punishment by trial courts, now make most of poor investigation by the police.
Besides that, discrepancies in eyewitnesses’ accounts and inadequate proof have also led to the weakening of cases.
