Overwhelming response to CM Electric Bike Scheme Phase-2
CM Electric Bike Scheme Phase-2 has been launched on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
After the Honihar scholarship and laptop schemes for Punjab students, the e-bike portal was opened.
In just two days, 432,000 students from across Punjab got themselves registered for the CM E-Bike Scheme.
The registration process of 265,000 students in the CM E-Bike Scheme is underway.
More than 108,000 students will apply for the CM E-Bike Scheme.
Students can apply for the CM Electric Bike Scheme on “bikes.punjab.gov.pk” till October 4.
Punjab domicile or identity card is the basic requirement for the CM E-Bike Scheme Phase-2 applicant and must be a regular student of a government or private degree college or university approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The student should be at least 18 years of age for the CM Electric Bike Scheme.
To apply for the CM Electric Bike Scheme, one should have a learner driving license or motorcycle driving license.
Only one student from a family will get an e-bike in the scheme.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, down payment for students in the CM Electric Bike Scheme has been waived.
The Punjab government will also pay interest and insurance on the CM Electric Bike Scheme.
Students who get the CM Electric Bike will pay only Rs3028 per month.
A helmet and safety rod will be provided free of cost with the bike in the CM Electric Bike Scheme.
Students will be given two-day e-bike training in the CM Electric Bike Scheme.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered steps to provide e-bikes within six weeks after the process is completed.
