Shehbaz saddened by woman’s death while collecting aid
PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday described the way the cash assistance was being distributed among the deserving people as alarming.
Shehbaz said the news about the death of a woman in Multan while collecting assistance was saddening, as he asked the government to immediately adopt a better strategy to distribute cash and ration among the citizens.
He was addressing a meeting of PML-N leaders via video link during they paid glowing tributes to Raja Ashfaq Sarwar who breathed his last earlier in the day.
The PML-N president said the healthcare workers – including doctors and nurses – were fighting a war for the existence of Pakistan and its citizens.
He said AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider deserved applause for establishing a special hospital to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier in a tweet, Shehbaz said Raja Ashfaq stood by the party like a rock, no matter what the circumstances were.
Grieved to learn about the sad demise of Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, a senior PMLN leader & longtime companion of Quaid Nawaz Sharif. He stood by the party like a rock, no matter what the circumstances were. May Allah Almighty rest his soul in peace! My condolences to his family.— Shehbaz Sharif (Stay at home to stay safe) (@CMShehbaz) April 11, 2020
He also blasted the Indian government for targeting the civilian population along the Line of Control (LoC). “Modi's rabid jingoism knows no bounds,” he said, adding, “Peace along the LoC hangs by a thread!”
