A 70-year-old man Monday sustained critical burns after he was set on fire by a suspect over some monetary dispute in Lalian tehsil, Chiniot, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“The incident took place in the Muhammadwala police precincts,” police said.

“The injured was identified as Sultan. A suspect named Wajid poured petrol on him and set him on fire over monetary dispute. A case was registered against the accused,” they added.

“Sultan was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital where the doctors referred him to Allied Hospital, Faisalabad due to lack of burn unit in the THQ hospital,” they stated.
