JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman on Tuesday condemned the police action against the PML-N workers who were accompanying Maryam Nawaz and called for a united line of action, adding that media should not promote the undemocratic forces.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said the police action was condemnable and added that the PML-N workers brutally tortured.
Fazl said he had a detailed conversation with Maryam who shared a video in which policeman could be seen pelting stones at her vehicle. She expressed her fear that a bullet might have cracked the vehicle’s bulletproof screen as stone could not cause such damage, he added.
He said a lie was being spread as if the NAB had been attacked. “Such excuses are rejected,” remarked the JUI-F chief and added that the NAB was formed only for political victimisation.
The opposition was being pushed to the wall, said the senior politician who recalled that his rally was once attacked where the policemen resorted to pelting stone on him and his supporters
However, Fazl admitted that the PTI government had been taking advantage of a lack of coordinated stance among the opposition parties. The opposition could never play the role required for removing the selected government if the present approach persisted, he stressed.
