A policeman embraced martyrdom when unidentified gunmen attacked a patrol in KP capital Peshawar, 24NewsHD TV channel reported late on Wednesday night.

According to police, the armed persons attacked the squad in Regi Model Town police limits, claiming the life of an ASI.

The body has been shifted to a hospital for autopsy. The lawmen have stepped up security and launched a hunt for the culprits.

Earlier in the day, Army Quick Reaction Force killed two terrorists after a patrol escaped an IED attack in

DIK district of the KP province. The security persons also seized arms and ammunition. Locals lauded the lawmen for eliminating the terrorists.
