73 heroin-filled capsules recovered from traveller’s stomach at Peshawar Airport

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 15 suspects during eight operations against drug trafficking in different parts of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

At Peshawar Airport, the ANF officials recovered 73 heroin-filled capsules weighing 435 grams from the stomach of a passenger travelling to Bahrain.

In a separate operation in Lahore, two suspects riding separate motorcycles were arrested near Ravi Road with 680 ecstasy tablets weighing 400 grams, 1.5kg of heroin and two 9mm pistols.

Near a bus terminal in Faisalabad, officials recovered 646 grams of charas concealed inside a suspect's shoes.

Furthermore, in Islamabad, ANF officials recovered 2.4kg of charas from a suspect near a university. The suspect allegedly admitted to selling drugs to students at educational institutions.

Similarly, near the Mandra Toll Plaza, 10.8kg of charas was recovered from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two suspects, including a woman.

Another operation near the Rawalpindi Interchange led to the recovery of 38.4kg of charas and 15.6kg of opium from a vehicle, with two suspects taken into custody.

In another operation, three suspects were also arrested near Chungi 26 in Islamabad after ANF officials recovered 9.6kg of charas from their vehicle.

Meanwhile, in Sargodha, three motorcyclists were arrested near a bus terminal after 3.6kg of charas was recovered from their possession.

According to the ANF, narcotics worth more than Rs11.6 million were seized during the operations, with the total quantity of drugs recovered reaching 83.385kg.

The ANF said further investigations into the cases are underway.
