Court adjourns Falak Javed’s bail plea till August 17 on Zaman Park case

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has adjourned the hearing of a post-arrest bail petition filed by Falaq Javed, sister of PTI activist Sanam Javed, in a case of attack on Islamabad police at Zaman Park, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.p

ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill heard the bail petition filed by Falak Javed through her counsel from jail.

During the hearing, the prosecution requested more time to present the case record. The court directed the prosecution to submit the record and adjourned the hearing until August 17.

Falaq Javed’s counsel presented judgments from higher courts and argued that the accused is a woman and her release on bail is her legal right.

The counsel stated that the investigation has been completed and requested the court to grant her bail.

The accused, Falak Javed, is on judicial remand in jail in this case.

The prosecution opposed the bail plea, alleging that Falak Javed was involved in an attack on Islamabad police officers at Zaman Park and claimed that a petrol bomb was recovered from the accused.

According to the prosecution, Islamabad police had reached the residence of PTI founder Imran Khan to serve the summons, where protesters allegedly threw petrol bombs and injured police officers.

A case was registered against the incident at Race Course Police Station under FIR No. 410/23.
