Hira Soomro reveals why she declined film with Ranveer Singh

Pakistani actress Hira Soomro grabbed attention online after sharing photos with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh. The post stood out not only for its striking, winter-themed images but also for her caption, in which she revealed why she turned down a role in an Indian film.

In her caption, Hira wrote: “Now haters will say these are AI! I was cast in the movie Dhuradar, but the moment I realised it’s an anti-Pakistan movie, I refused it… A proud Pakistani ????????.”

She playfully addressed criticism by joking that “haters will say these are AI,” hinting that some people might question the authenticity of the images.

She also explained that she had initially been cast in the film Dhuradar but chose to step away once she learned it allegedly carried an anti-Pakistan narrative.

Calling herself “a proud Pakistani,” she emphasized her decision to prioritise national integrity over professional opportunity.

The carousel featured several winter-themed, romance-inspired photos of Hira Soomro with Ranveer Singh. In one shot, the pair were seen lying in the snow in an intimate, face-to-face close-up.

Another image showed them posing cheek-to-cheek through a heart-shaped snow cutout, smiling against a bright blue sky.

A third photo captured a warm moment where Ranveer embraced her from behind as they shared a gentle forehead touch, adding to the cozy, romantic aesthetic.

The thriller Dhurandhar, released on December 5, has taken audiences in both India and Pakistan by storm.

However, it has also sparked considerable controversy in Pakistan. Critics, media, and government officials have called it an "anti-Pakistan propaganda film."

The controversy is due to the film showing a Karachi neighbourhood, Lyari, as a hub for terrorism and portraying Pakistani characters as villains targeting India.

The movie also features real political figures and symbols, including Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan Peoples Party flags, Chaudhry Aslam, and the ISI, which has increased criticism and even led to legal threats.

While some argue that the film is about anti-terrorism rather than being against Pakistan, its story and portrayal have made Dhurandhar a widely discussed and controversial film in the country.
