Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi rejects proposal to hike property tax

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has rejected a proposal of Revenue Department to increase property tax, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Saturday that the final decision to increase the property tax will be taken by the elected government.


The revenue department had made recommendations to increase property tax in Lahore.


Recommendations were also made to bring five marla houses in the tax net.


An additional burden of Rs1.36 billion was to be borne on five marla households.
