Alarm sounded after oil tanker overturns near Multan

An oil tanker which was loaded with 30,000 litres of petrol and 10,000 litres of diesel was overturned near Multan on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Rescue 1122 sources said that their control room received a call from Lal Haveli Qadipur Rawan that an oil tanker carrying huge quantity of petrol and diesel was overturned and the petrol and diesel is leaking from the tanker.

The sources further said that after receiving the call rescue teams from nearby station were immediately rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.

Rescue operation was still underway while efforts were being made to make the oil tanker stand on its tyres.

Rescue 1122 team and district administration cordoned off the entire area blocking access to the accident site.
