After the upgradation of Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium for hosting the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy, Karachi’s National Stadium is now also ready for the purpose in just 120 days thanks to the hard work done by labourers round the clock and constant monitoring done by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The newly upgraded stadium will be inaugurated at a colourful ceremony today.

Popular singers Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan and Sahir Ali Bagga will light up the occasion with their performances, while the ceremony also features the display of fireworks.

In his comments, the PCB chairman has said that the stadium’s upgradation, which had started on September 28, was completed on January 31 as the building housing the pavilion was demolished and rebuilt, and the number of seats was increased in each and every enclosure. Naqvi has said that the entire team of the FWO, NESPAK, contractor and the PCB toiled hard to get the job done.
