Fresh snowfall hits Kaghan Valley and Galiyat, intensifying cold weather
Tourist spots in Mansehra and Abbottabad covered in snow
A new wave of intermittent snowfall has begun across the mountains of Kaghan Valley, blanketing popular tourist destinations in white and intensifying the cold weather in northern Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.
According to reports, Balakot’s upper mountains have experienced light rain and snowfall, while Naran, Kaghan, Shogran, and Babusar Top have also received fresh snow, making the region even more picturesque for visitors. The latest snowfall has caused a sharp drop in temperatures across Mansehra, increasing the winter chill.
Meanwhile, the famous hill station of Galiyat in Abbottabad has also witnessed significant snowfall, with 1.5 inches recorded so far. However, the snowfall has led to slippery conditions on Murree Road, raising concerns for travellers.
To prevent disruptions, the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) administration has deployed heavy machinery to clear roads and ensure smooth traffic flow. Efforts are being made to keep Abbottabad-Murree Road and other link roads open for commuters and tourists.
With snowfall continuing in various parts, the cold wave has intensified, making warm clothing and travel precautions essential for those planning to visit the region.
