PM Shehbaz visits Edge of Government exhibition in Dubai

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the Edge of Government exhibition on the sidelines of World Governments Summit in Dubai.

On the occasion, the prime minister was briefed at the exhibition, based on global examples of improved governance and initiatives in various departments of governments.

The prime minister also met with the experts, providing modern solutions to the challenges in various sectors.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi also accompanied PM Shehbaz Sharif.

PM Shehbaz meets Sri Lankan president

Sharif and President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake discussed key aspects of the bilateral relations, especially in the areas of trade, defense and security, education, religious tourism and sports.

During a meeting took place on the margins of the World Government Summit in Dubai, they agreed to increasing high-level exchanges, and exploring new opportunities for enhanced cooperation. This was the first in-person interaction between the two leaders. Recalling the historical linkages between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the two leaders agreed to build on the existing goodwill between the two countries.

The President of Sri Lanka appreciated the cordial and time tested relations between the two brotherly countries. He shared his fond memories of the 1996 cricket world cup final that was held in Lahore. Regional and multilateral affairs, including re-invigoration of South Asian Association for Regional Countries (SAARC), were also discussed during the meeting.

PM leaves for Pakistan

Sharif on Tuesday evening departed for Pakistan after concluding his two-day visit to United Arab Emirates (UAE). At Dubai International Airport, UAE Minister for Justice Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi saw off the prime minister. During his visit, PM Shehbaz Sharif held bilateral meetings with the UAE leadership and engaged with heads of state and government from the participating countries.
