Drugs are detestable and life is precious: Muhammad Nasir Iqbal Khan

International Human Rights Movement (IHRM), Central Chairman Muhammad Nasir Iqbal Khan, has said that all kinds of drugs are hateful and life is extremely valuable. Anyone who invites you to use drugs is not your friend but your worst enemy.

Drug dealers are devoid of humanity and are, by nature, sellers of their conscience. No person with a living conscience can unjustly drive the sons and daughters of the nation to death through the poison of drugs. A time comes when those addicted to drugs themselves become pitiable. For a successful struggle against drugs, every individual will have to play the role of a warrior.

He further said that under the wise command of Brigadier Sikandar Hayat Chaudhry, Commander of the Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab Regional Directorate, the successful operations against drugs at the provincial level are being greatly praised, and several major culprits have been brought to justice. No one wants to see their children at the mercy of the drug-dealing mafia.

In his statement issued Wednesday, Muhammad Nasir Iqbal Khan added that without timely and strict punishments, it will not be possible to get rid of the menace of drugs. Every provincial government, including Punjab, should construct modern rehabilitation centers to ensure the dignified reintegration of drug addicts into society.

He said that people suffering from addiction are themselves weary of this disease; they are not untouchable, and our attitudes must reflect acceptance in order to bring them back. He suggested that, in consultation with medical experts, educational institutions should arrange “VDRL” tests every few months, and any student found using drugs should be transferred to a rehabilitation center for a prescribed period.

 He said that just as good health is beneficial, good company is also advantageous for human beings. Our youth are the architects of the future; they must never sit in the company of immoral and bad individuals. Drug use can never be a status symbol nor a remedy for deprivation and sorrow. Citizens should fully cooperate with the Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab Regional Directorate and share authentic information to protect their children and loved ones from the sweet poison of drugs.
