New transport policy sets vehicle and petrol allowances for Punjab  officers

The Punjab government has issued the Motor Transport Policy 2026 following cabinet approval, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the channel report, the new policy will apply to all provincial departments across Punjab.

Under the new guidelines, the purchase of all electric vehicles will now require approval from the Finance Department. 

Vehicles will be provided to officers of grade 17 and above, while the petrol limit for all officers has been increased by 25 litres.

The Department of Services, General Administration, and Coordination (S&GAD) has officially issued the notification for the policy, making it effective across all relevant government departments.
