Temperatures drop again after rain, snow lash northern parts of country

The northern and upper parts of the country received rain and snow during the last 24 hours, applying brakes on the approaching summer season, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

There are reports of snowfall over the mountains in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and KP.

Neelum Valley and Leepa Valley in AJK were covered with snow.

Similarly, Murree, Ayubia, Galyat and Tirah Valley in district Khyber also received snow, turning the weather chilly again.

On the other hand, rain was reported from the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Abbottabad, Khyber, Bannu, Swabi, Waziristan and several other areas.

In Islamabad, rain turned the weather cold again.

The Met Office forecast that the maximum temperature in the federal capital would go up to 20 degrees Celsius, while it would remain seven degrees Celsius on the minimum side.

Winds are expected to blow in the city at the speed of 13 kilometers per hour.

The level of moisture in the air in the morning was recorded at over 90 per cent.

Cold, dry weather predicted

The weather department predicted cold and dry weather for most parts of the country, while extremely cold in the mountainous areas, during the next 24 hours.
