Trapped Narowal family tells about Murree miseries

A family hailing from Narowal who were vacationing in Murree during days when the hilly resort received the worst blizzard has reached their hometown safely, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
While talking to media on Tuesday, the family members said that the rate of an egg jumped up from Rs30 to Rs270 and a bottle of mineral water which was available at Rs70 before could be purchased for Rs470 during the crisis days.

They said that when they were trapped in the blizzard, the hoteliers demanded Rs70,000 for renting a room which was earlier available for Rs4,000. They said after lot of haggling and pleading with the hotel owners, they managed to get a room for Rs40,000. Everybody in Murree started capitalizing on people’s miseries and started looting the beleaguered holidaymakers, the family rued.
