Justice Mazahar’s secretary sends corrigendum to president
Top court judge Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi's secretary has sent a letter to the president over a 'typographic mistake', 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
Justice Mazahar has stepped down and the resignation has a date error. Justice Mazahar’s secretary sent a corrigendum to the president, stating that 2023 was mistakenly written instead of 2024 on the resignation.
It reads: “Today i.e. 10.01.2024, Hon’ble Mr Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan has tendered his resignation from the office of Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan and the resignation letter has been sent to the Hon’ble President of Pakistan (copy attached).
“However, inadvertently the date of the letter was written as 10th of January, 2023, instead of 10th of January, 2024, Hon’ble Judge has desired that being a typographic mistake, the same may be corrected and recognized as 10th of January, 2024, and the concerned quarters may be informed accordingly.”
