Historic Kech Marathon concludes successfully under Sports Festival 2026

A historic marathon organised under the Kech Sports and Fitness Festival 2026 concluded successfully in Turbat, marking one of the district’s most vibrant participatory events in recent years, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday. 

The five-kilometer race drew a diverse crowd, including students, residents, and prominent figures from various walks of life, all taking part with enthusiasm as the festival continued to promote community engagement through sports.

Deputy Commissioner Kech, Basheer Ahmed Badich, attended the event as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the top finishers. 

He lauded the marathon as a memorable milestone for the district, noting its role in uniting the community through physical activity and shared celebration.

Speaking at the ceremony, the deputy commissioner said the festival serves as an effective platform for cultivating healthy habits, encouraging positive thinking, and advancing gender inclusion among local youth.

He emphasised that such events help strengthen social cohesion while paving the way for a more active and inclusive society in Kech.
