The 56-year-old global superstar poked fun at her former couple nickname with ex-husband Ben Affleck while glamming up for a playful promotional clip ahead of the 2026 Golden Globe Awards. The cheeky moment quickly caught fans’ attention, with many praising Lopez for her confidence and humor following her highly publicized split from the actor.
Appearing alongside Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser in the promo, Lopez was seen strutting into a lavishly decorated room during rehearsals. As a voiceover asked, “Who are you?”, the singer mouthed along before declaring, “I’m the owner of this house,” setting the tone for the light-hearted exchange.
Glaser then joined in on the fun, later sharing the clip on social media with a caption that read: “Tomorrow I host the Globes. Jennifer Lopez presents. Finally, we debut our duo: Nennifer”, a playful twist on the iconic Bennifer nickname that once dominated headlines in the early 2000s.
Lopez, who recently turned heads with a series of chic selfies showcasing her flawless style, leaned fully into the joke. She reposted the moment on her Instagram Stories, flashing a radiant smile as she laughed with Glaser in the background. Taking the banter a step further, the On the Floor hitmaker added an interactive poll asking fans to vote between two tongue-in-cheek nicknames: “Nennifer” or “Jennikki.”
The original Bennifer label first emerged in 2002 when Lopez and Affleck’s romance captivated pop culture. The pair became engaged and starred together in the film Jersey Girl, but their relationship ended in 2004. Director Kevin Smith later revealed he coined the nickname during the movie’s pre-production, long before it became a global phenomenon.
