SECP sees 51% surge in new company registrations
Integration with FBR and EOBI streamlines registration process: Technology, services, and trading sectors dominate new business growth
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP) recorded a 51 percent increase in registration of new companies as compared with the data of 2020, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The SECP stated that a marginal difference is being witnessed in the registration of new businesses in the country due to the digitalisation of the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
In 2024, SECP registered 35,087 companies, and in 2025 total of 27,542 companies were registered.
SECP stated that its network is connected with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and, Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI).
SECP said the top 10 sectors together accounted for a large share of new registrations during the half-year, with the distribution indicating continued activity across technology, services, and trading-linked segments
After the introduction of the One Window operation, a certificate is issued on the spot. The SECP reforms were appreciated by global financial institutions.
The World Bank's Business Ready 2024 report will rank Pakistan sixth among 50 countries in the ease of starting a business index.
In the SIFC survey, SECP ranked top among 65 federal regulatory agencies in terms of government-to-business digital services and IT readiness.
While introducing National Regulatory Reforms, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif termed SECP as the champion of Reforms for making business-friendly policies.
