Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has denied registration of postgraduates from unapproved health institutions as several postgraduate programs in a number of Teaching Hospitals of Punjab are unregistered, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, PMDC has refused registration of Jinnah Hospital, Shahdara Hospital, Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital, Mian Munshi Hospital and Gangaram Hospital because several postgraduate programs in these teaching hospitals are unregistered.

Under the PMDC Act, illegal admissions are punishable by imprisonment and a fine.

Illegal post-graduate admissions are punishable with imprisonment for five years and a fine of up to 200 million.

With the negligence of the Health Department, teaching hospitals were playing with the future of the medical students.
