ATC rejects Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s bail in May 9 riots case

An anti-terrorism court rejected bail petitions of three Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the May 9 riots case, reported 24News HD TV channel on Friday.

Anti-terrorism court Judge Munzar Ali Gill announced the verdict. The other two PTI leaders include former Punjab Governor Umer Sarfraz Cheema and Mian Mehmoodur Rashid.

The court announced the verdict after hearing arguments from both sides.

The bail was rejected in a case no. 103/23 filed in Sarwar Road Police Station, Lahore.

During the hearing of the case, Prosecutor informed the court that trial of this case is going to conclude soon so bail petitions of the accused should be rejected.

The accused were facing charges of torching police vans near Jinnah House, Lahore.

The accused filed these petitions from jail.
