Brother opens up about having no contact with Humaira Asghar
Late Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar’s brother, Naveed Asghar, during a media interaction, opened up about why her family had not been in contact with her for the last two years. Debunking all the claims of disowning her, the brother said: “She had always been an Independent and self-authorized person. The family had not been in contact with her for the last six months as her mobile phone was switched off.”
The brother said that he and the family often tried to trace her through some of her close friends, but they did not share any information about her.
“She would visit their home once every six months to a year but had not been in touch for the past year and a half,” he added.
Naveed said that the family was not aware of her whereabouts, and the late actress had not informed anyone of her living arrangements in the city.
On the question about delaying in claiming her body, the brother attributed the reason to the parents’ emotional reaction.
“There is no such thing that we do not want to receive her body due to some conflicts between us. We, our parents, were quite emotional after getting about her decomposed body, which is why they initially refused to see it. But the media misinterpreted it. I am here with the permission of my father to take Humaira Asghar’s body for her last rites. She was an independent girl living happily there in Karachi.”
He also criticized the media sections for focusing on the family’s absence rather than investigating the matter.
Humaira Asghar was found dead after 9 months in her apartment in Karachi Defence Area.
Previously, her family refused to claim her body, which led many from the showbiz Industry to come forward to pay her last respects.
Later, her brother arrived in Karachi to collect her remains after fulfilling all the legal requirements.
