Justin Bieber sends fans into frenzy with Swag album release featuring Gunna and more

Justin Bieber sent fans into a frenzy on Thursday night with the surprise release of his seventh studio album, Swag, marking his first full-length record in four years.

The 31-year-old pop star confirmed the midnight drop (ET) with a global rollout of mysterious billboards and a flood of moody photos on social media featuring Hailey Bieber, 28, and their 10-month-old son, Jack Blues. The 21-track album includes collaborations with Gunna, Sexyy Red, and Cash Cobain, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tracks like Walking Away and Therapy Session have sparked speculation among fans, with lyrics seemingly referencing Justin’s recent mental health struggles and rumoured marital tension with Hailey.

Fans and critics have been dissecting potential meaning in song titles like Dadz Love, Forgiveness, and Devotion with Many suggesting tracks reflect Justin’s journey into fatherhood and his evolving relationship with Hailey.

The album’s visual branding is equally mysterious, with one cover featuring a stark black background and the word SWAG in bold white lettering. Other black-and-white promo shots show Bieber shirtless with Hailey holding Jack, staged at what appears to be the entrance to a dimly lit barn.

The promotional campaign for Swag included massive billboard installations in major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and even Reykjavík, Iceland.

Although Bieber had hinted at new music earlier this year, fans were caught off guard by the full album drop. He had reportedly been working on new material since 2022, but it’s unclear if Swag draws from those sessions or is entirely fresh content.

Alongside the album release, Bieber also launched a surprise drop from his new fashion line Skylrk, following his departure from his previous brand Drew House. The Skylrk collection, which includes pastel hoodies, tanks, sunglasses, and slides, saw several items sell out within hours.

Swag is Bieber’s first major release since Justice (2021), which received mixed reviews but debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum. His previous albums include Changes (2020), Purpose (2015), Believe (2012), Under The Mistletoe (2011), and My World 2.0 (2010).
