Katherine Ryan reveals ‘awful’ outfit mishap at Mel B’s wedding 

Comedian Katherine Ryan has revealed she was forced into a last-minute outfit change before attending Mel B’s star-studded wedding, and she didn’t hold back in describing her final look as a “disaster.”

Speaking on her podcast Telling Everybody Everything, the 41-year-old shared candid details from the big day.

Katherine, who is pregnant with her fourth child, said she didn’t anticipate how prominent her baby bump would be and ended up choosing a “flowy” dress that she compared to “bed linen.” Adding to the fashion panic, she had to ditch the fascinator she had ordered after realizing it didn’t match her dress.

“I ended up chopping an orchid from my kitchen and sticking that in my head,” she said, describing the makeshift floral headpiece.

The TV star also revealed she wore her hair down,  a choice she regretted, due to a shaved patch at the back of her neck, which she said was a result of her “low” hairline. Meanwhile, her husband Bobby Kootstra, who wore a cream suit, was equally unimpressed with his outfit. “I don’t think we’ve ever looked worse… on like the most important day of someone’s life,” she joked.

Despite the fashion faux pas, Katherine gushed about the wedding itself, calling it a “lovely” and deeply personal event. “Everyone there was either a close personal friend, or family member, or Northern,” she laughed. “It had a real grassroots, true friendship and family vibe.”

Mel B tied the knot with longtime partner and hairdresser Rory McPhee in a grand ceremony attended by a select group of friends and family. The festivities continued high above the city in a glitzy reception at The Shard’s Shangri-La venue, dubbed a “party in the sky.”
