PTI releases final list of candidates for KP Senate seats
Chairman Barrister Gohar issues notification of final candidates after consultation with PTI Founder Imran Khan: Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, Azam Swati, Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Irfan Saleem, Khurram Zeeshan, Irshad Hussain, Ayesha Bano, Rubina Naz among contesters: PTI directs withdrawal of all extra nomination papers
After consultation with the founding leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party has finalised its list of candidates for the upcoming Senate elections from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to a notification issued by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the finalised candidates for general seats include Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, and Mirza Muhammad Afridi. Alongside them, Irfan Saleem and Khurram Zeeshan have also made it to the final list.
Additionally, Faizur Rehman and Shafqat Ayaz have been included as covering (backup) candidates for general seats, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
For the technocrat seats, PTI has finalised the names of Azam Swati and Irshad Hussain, while Noorul Haq Qadri has been placed as a backup candidate for the same category.
For women’s reserved seats, the party has selected Ayesha Bano and Rubina Naz as its final nominees for the Senate elections.
The party leadership has directed all other PTI members who had submitted nomination papers to withdraw them, as the official list of candidates has now been confirmed.
It is worth mentioning that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has sent a letter to the KP Assembly secretariat for conducting the Senate election on July 21.
