Court settles T-shirt dispute between Pinky, jail authorities

A Karachi court has disposed of an application filed by alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky after Women Jail authorities responded to her complaints over clothing and medical treatment in prison, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The matter came before a Judicial Magistrate after Anmol Pinky, through her lawyer, submitted a written application alleging that she was not being provided with clothes and prescribed medicines while in custody.

The court subsequently summoned the Superintendent of the Women Jail to explain the position.

Appearing before the court, the Women Jail Superintendent rejected the allegations, stating that the inmate had not been denied clothing.

According to the jail official, the issue arose because Pinky wanted to wear a T-shirt, which prison authorities considered inappropriate under the jail's dress code.

The superintendent informed the court that there was no restriction on the accused wearing proper clothes brought from outside, provided it complied with prison rules.

She said the jail administration had no objection to Anmol wearing normal clothes and that only attire considered inappropriate was not permitted.

Responding to the allegations regarding the medical treatment, the Women Jail officer told the court that Anmol Pinky is currently receiving treatment at Karachi's Civil Hospital.

She further stated that all medicines prescribed by the hospital's doctors are being provided to the accused.

After hearing the Women Jail authorities' explanation, the court on Saturday disposed of Pinky's application.

According to officials, Anmol alias Pinky is facing multiple narcotics cases registered at Baghdadi Police Station and other police stations.
