Establishment Division announces nominations for 40th Senior Management Course

In connection with the Senior Management Course, a mandatory requirement for the promotion of government officers to Grade 20, the Establishment Division has announced nominations for the 40th Senior Management Course for officers in Grade 19 or equivalent.

This training course, spanning a period of over four months, will be held from July 20 to November 6, 2026, at the National Institutes of Public Administration (NIPA) in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar. According to a communication sent by the Establishment Division to the Rector of the National School of Public Policy regarding course nominations, a total of 169 officers from various federal and provincial services, ministries, and departments have been nominated for the course.

The nominated officers include 30 from the Pakistan Administrative Service, 26 from the Police Service of Pakistan, and officers from various other entities—such as the Secretariat Group, Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service, Foreign Service, Information Group, Commerce and Trade Group, Postal Group, Railways, National Accountability Bureau, Election Commission, Ministry of Defence, Karachi Port Trust, EOBI, and Airport Security Force, as well as the governments of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir.

The Establishment Division has directed all nominated officers to report to the respective NIPA by July 17.

The Division has clarified that refusal to undergo mandatory training or repeatedly deferring it could adversely affect an officer's promotion; furthermore, an officer who fails to attend the mandatory training three times may be considered for supersession.

According to the notification, the course fee per officer has been set at Rs350,000, covering expenses for accommodation, meals, and mandatory domestic and international study tours.

The Establishment Division will bear the fees for federal officers, while provincial governments and autonomous bodies will pay the fees for their respective officers.

In accordance with the Prime Minister's directives, all ministries, divisions, and departments have also been instructed to relieve the nominated officers in a timely manner.
