Establishment of Furniture City in Gujrat on the cards

All Pakistan Furniture Makers Association (APFMA) President Chaudhary Mohammad Afzal proposed setting up a Furniture City in Gujrat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The Provincial Minister for Industries, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, has appreciated the proposal for the establishment of a Furniture City in Gujrat to promote exports.

Honorary Consul-General of Vietnam Rizwan Fareed was also present during the meeting.

Chaudhary Shafay Hussain discussed various proposals for expanding the furniture industry as per the international standards.

He said that a state-of-the-art Furniture City will be established in the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) on an area of 50 acres.

He said a lot of scope is available for enhancement of furniture exports.

He assured the provincial government full cooperation for strengthening the furniture industry.

Ali Ansar Ghuman, Rana Bilal, Rizwan, Majid Iqbal, Kazim Lucman, and other office-bearers were also present during the meeting.
