A Pakistani truck artist has paid a tribute to George Floyd in his unique style.

Truck artist Haider Ali has painted a stunning mural of George Floyd on the wall of his house in Karachi and dedicated the entire wall to Floyd. The mural features a special saying. “Hum kaaley hain tou kia hua, dil waley hain (So what if we’re dark-skinned? We’ve got big hearts).”

Speaking about his work, Haider Ali said, “This artwork not only pays reverence to George Floyd but it pays a tribute to everyone fighting inequality and injustice.”

George Floyd was an African-American man who was killed by police during an arrest in Minneapolis on May 25. Protests in response to both Floyd's death, and more broadly to police violence against black people, quickly spread across the United States and the world and grew into a movement called Black Lives Matter.

As George Floyd was laid to rest in Houston, family members and friends gathered there to remember him. According to those who knew him, he was a man who drew people in with his kindness, in the Third Ward of Houston where he grew up and everywhere else he went.
