Backchannel contacts resume between govt, PTI as efforts for founder's meeting continue

Contacts between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have resumed, with efforts underway to arrange a meeting with the party's founder, according to informed sources.

Sources said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has intensified efforts aimed at facilitating a meeting with the PTI founder Imran Khan, amid indications of renewed engagement between the two sides.

According to sources, a senior government figure recently established contact as part of attempts to ease tensions and explore a possible way forward on issues raised by the opposition party.

The sources said progress regarding the proposed meeting could emerge within the next few hours, although no official announcement has been made by either side.

They further claimed that the PTI leadership had been kept informed about the contacts and developments taking place behind the scenes.

The reported interactions come at a time of heightened political activity ahead of the federal budget session, with PTI leaders continuing to demand greater access to the party founder and pressing for meetings with him.

Neither the government nor PTI has officially commented on the reported contacts.
