Speaker Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and his son Chaudhry Moonis Elahi, MNA, met with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Lahore on Thursday and discussed political situation in the country, especially the election of Senate chairman scheduled to be held on Friday (March 12), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Both Pervaiz and Moonis renewed their pledge to vote for Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate in election for the seat of Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.
CM Buzdar thanked Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for his party’s support for the PTI candidate.
The chief minister, on the occasion, vowed to foil every attempt to create political instability in Punjab.
Pervaiz, too, expressed the resolve to jointly face conspiracies against the present government. “We are PTI’s allies, and our alliance has grown stronger with the passage of time,” he said, and added those wishing to break this alliance would feel disappointed at the end of the day.
He said that PML-Q’s alliance with PTI was growing stronger.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that all PTI candidates for Senate elections from the province were elected due to a well thought-out strategy, and tomorrow (on March 12) Sadiq Sanjrani would also win the election of Senate chairman.
He said the ruling party had an excellent working relationship with PML-Q in Punjab, and would take the party on board before every step.
The chief minister further said that the Punjab government would continue to serve masses regardless of the criticism heaped on it. “Conspiracies are being hatched against my government for the last two and a half years, but every time these conspirators failed in their objectives,” he said, and said he would answer his critics through his performance.
Soon after his meeting with Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, CM Buzdar headed to Islamabad to brief Prime Minister Imran Khan about his meeting with the PML-Q leaders.
He would also attend the PTI’s core committee’s meeting.
It is worth-mentioning here that Punjab chief minister was in Islamabad on Wednesday to discuss matters related to the Senate chairman election.
