Shehbaz, Fazl warn PM Imran against use of ‘foul language’

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif said Friday that the activities that took place at the Bani Gala residence of Prime Minister Imran Khan was an open secret, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.     

Speaking to the media following his meeting with Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Islamabad, he asked the prime minister to use refined language.

“And if you don’t do so, we will make you do that,” he said, and warned, “We also have things to tell to the people. You will have no place to hide in case we make these secrets of your life public.”

Shehbaz said while on one hand Pakistan Army gave sacrifices in the war on terror, on the other PM Imran maligned it in London.  

He went on to say that he knew his (PM’s) interior minister fully well. “Sheikh Rasheed is a criminal,” PML-N president alleged.

Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who was standing alongside Shehbaz, said that Imran Khan should bear this thing in mind that the JUI-F workers had jammed the entire country on his order yesterday. “And if we can bring routine life to a halt, then we can also teach you a lesson,” he said categorically.

“You call people names”, Fazl said, and added, “Remember you don’t deserve to be the prime minister of the country.”  

He went on to say that it was his request to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to seek explanation from him as to why he had addressed a public gathering in Dir when the no-confidence motion had been submitted in the National Assembly.

PDM president made it clear to PM Imran that he should not remain under the illusion that if the motion was foiled, the opposition would sit idle. “We will fight against you in the streets instead,” he warned.

“For God’s sake just relax. Fight on political front. Why are you losing your temper?” Fazl said while addressing the premier.

Earlier during the meeting, Shehbaz offered his sympathies to Fazl over the police action inside the Parliament Lodges, Islamabad yesterday (Thursday, March 10, 2022) and alleged that the police by storming the lodges violated the privacy of members of the parliament (MPs).  

Both the leaders also discussed the strategy to make the no-trust motion the opposition parties were going to table in the National Assembly successful.

Recent meetings the two leaders had held recently with other opposition parties as well with those part of the coalition government at Center also came under discussion.
