Four fishermen died and another 14 went missing as their boat capsized in the Hijamro Creek, situated between Thatta and Badin, officials said on Sunday.
Pakistan Navy, Sindh Fisheries and Fishermen's Cooperative Society are jointly searching for the missing fishermen.
The deceased were identified as 21-year-old Shakeel, 50-year-old Hussain and 34-year-old Hashim.
Officials announced financial help for the victim families. “Initially, 50,000 per person will be given for the burial of the dead,” a Fishermen's Cooperative Society office-bearer said, adding that the society stands with the fishermen.
Bodies were shifted to a Karachi morgue.
Last week, a boat capsized near Hajamro Creek, leaving 45 fishermen trapped in the sea due to strong winds and high waves while fishing in the open waters. However, they were rescued.
