Dacoit killed in Karachi police encounter

A dacoit was killed in a police encounter in Lyari Sector 36 in Surjani area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to police, a gang of dacoits was robbing passers-by at gunpoint by setting up a roadblock in Lyari Sector 36. 

When the police reached the spot after receiving information from a victim citizen, the accused tried to escape by opening fire on the cops. During the firing, one dacoit was killed and others escaped.

Weapons with ammunition, empty shells, two stolen mobile phones and a wallet have been recovered from the slain accused. 

The motorcycle used by the accused has also been seized by the police and details of which are being obtained. 

The arrested accused died while being shifted to the hospital and the process of identifying him is underway. 

Meanwhile, a robber was injured in an encounter between police and armed robbers in Zia Colony area of ​​Mominabad. 

As a result of exchange of fire the accused was arrested in an injured condition while his two accomplices escaped. 

The arrested accused was identified as Hameed son of Akbar Khan Salah. 

Arms with ammunition, revolvers, two stolen mobile phones and cash were recovered from the arrested accused. 

The arrested accused is being shifted to the hospital for medical treatment and the search for the absconding accomplices is underway. 

Police are taking disciplinary action, and more records of the arrested accused are also being obtained.
