Port Qasim employees protest non-payment of Eid bonus

Employees at Port Qasim including members and office-bearers of Port Qasim trade union (CBA) held a protest demonstration on Tuesday outside main gate of the port over non-payment of bonus before Eidul Fitr, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The protesting employees demanded the management of Port Qasim Authority (PQA) to immediately withdraw development charges of residential colony.

The protesting employees also included trade union CBA office-bearers including workers who belonged to Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The protesting employees vowed to continue their protest till the acceptance of their demands. They threatened that they will lock the main gate of Port Qasim Authority and no one will be allowed to enter the premises.

Due to protest traffic on all the connecting roads remained suspended for hours making long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the road.
