The administration closed the Linar Cancer Hospital [Larkana Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy] after five doctors, including its director, were tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
Meanwhile, the police just like other essential service members are facing the brunt of the pandemic as an ASI working in the OMT Section died in Karachi on Monday. It means the Karachi police have so far lost three members because of the virus.
According to the Sindh Police spokesperson, the virus has so far been found in 151 officials with 36 new cases being reported during the last two days.
As far as the Punjab Police is concerned, another 68 officials were tested positive during the last 24 hours after which the number of infected personnel climbed to 211.
Over 8,000 policemen have so far been tested in the province and the officials are waiting for the results of 4,000 of them. On the other hand, the virus was found in two more Rescue 1122 staff members in Rawalpindi after which the number of infected employees in the district reached five.
The two Rescue 1122 staffers were shifted to the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology for treatment soon after receiving their test results.
