Ministry of Commerce giving an explanation on appointing a trade minister in India for opening trade with the neighbour country has said that Pakistan is not going to open its trade ties with India.

According to the 24New HD TV channel, the Ministry of Commerce clarified on Wednesday that no change has been made in the trade policy of Pakistan with India.

The Ministry of Commerce stated that it appoints trade ministers in 46 countries of the world as per its policy and an appointment of a trade minister in New Delhi has nothing to do with starting trade with India.

The commerce ministry also said that the Trade Minister has been appointed in New Delhi for the last two decades and such process of appointment of Trade Minister in New Delhi was started in the previous era.

The ministry said that the sitting government has given final approval to the appointment of the Trade Minister in New Delhi but such an appointment does not mean the resumption of trade with India.

Pertinent to mention here that earlier today, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has claimed in his press conference that Pakistan is going to start trade with India.
