Robert Irwin’s nearly nude photoshoot sparks buzz
Wildlife conservationist and television personality Robert Irwin has stirred both admiration and online chatter following his bold participation in a nearly nude photo shoot aimed at raising awareness for animal conservation.
The 21-year-old son of the late Steve Irwin recently posed with snakes and spiders for Australian underwear brand Bonds as part of its Made for Down Under campaign.
The campaign, intended to spotlight environmental awareness and the importance of species protection, took an unexpected turn when the shoot gained viral attention, though not solely for its conservation message.
In an interview with a media outlet, Robert acknowledged the overwhelming reaction the campaign received, particularly on social media.
“Oh my gosh.
The DMs are a dangerous place right now,” he admitted. “I have been giving the DMs a wide berth.”
Nonetheless, Robert said he welcomed those who became his admirers after the shoot for Bond's 'Made for Down Under' campaign last month.
"It's been a fun experience, and I'm very flattered, and everyone has been kind. They have," the Australian conservationist said. “This has added a new element to my message."
"It's always been about animal conservation, positivity, all of that, but now health and fitness," he added.
"And I really want to be someone to go out there and say, ‘Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Be the best version of yourself.’"
Robert's comments come at the gala honouring his late father, Steve Irwin's lifelong effort for wildlife conservation.
